Score a Bargain at Citadel Outlets

November 21st, 2015

It’s the outlet mall that’s so big, it has its own shuttle service and street! Citadel Outlets is a must for any fashionista or bargain hunter. Full of your favorite brands and shops, it also boasts an impressive lineup of local retailers so you can get the full flavor of the LA fashion scene. Talk to your Pavilions Hotel front desk staff about scheduling a shuttle service, and don’t forget to check out the stunner of a Christmas tree when you arrive at Citadel Drive.

Military discounts are available at many of the shops (just ask!) and there are always special sales and events happening. In December, you have the entire store on sale at Calvin Klein as well as $20 off your purchase of $75 or more. Charlotte Russe has a special sale on shoes each weekend, while Helzberg Diamonds is offering an extra 15 percent off sale items.

The Perfect Holiday Hunting Grounds

If you’ll be in Anaheim for Black Friday or the holidays, you need to know where the best bargains are. Citadel offers Vans, Toys ‘R’ Us, Old Navy, DKNY and Zales for your shopping pleasure. When you need a break, slip away to Citadel Cafes for Subway, Sbarrro or Panda Express.

Shop your favorite designers for stellar deals, and leave the parking hassle to the shuttle driver!

Check Out Big Air Trampoline Park

November 21st, 2015

You’re never too old or too young to have a blast at Big Air! For the littlest ones, there’s a monitored toddler time that’s safe, fun, and sure to keep your smallest family members entertained. Lil’ Zero Gravity Court is an ongoing attraction designated just for toddlers where they can jump and play to their heart’s content—all in a secure environment.

However, most travelers come here for the big kid areas! Check out the aptly named Launch Pad where you can fly across the air, landing in the gigantic foam pit surrounded by wall trampolines. It’s the closest you can get to living out your dream of being a full-fledged cartoon character.

The Lady (and Gents) is a “Tramp”

“Tramps,” or trampolines, are aplenty at Big Air. With Dippers and Dodgers Dodgeball, you can reserve an entire court or try out the open play times. Battle your friends, strangers, or a combination of both in the most epic game of dodgeball on trampolines you’ve ever encountered. Take on the mechanical bull, surrounded by soft padding so you can embrace your rodeo dreams.

There’s Martian Mountain to flex your climbing skills, and the Zero Gravity Court that surrounds you with trampolines. Jump right into all the action Anaheim can pack!

Take a Day Trip to Temecula Wineries

November 21st, 2015

Forget northern California (but not really!) because southern California is where it’s at if you want a fabulous wine region. Temecula wineries is a collection of vineyards, wineries, cellars, and tasting rooms featuring the best vino in the state. Start your tour at Wiens Family Cellars, famous for its “Big Reds” and celebrating ten years in 2016! It’s known as a down to earth winery pairing great pours with great nibbles.

Wilson Creek Winery and Vineyard is known for its Oh My Gosh Almond sparkling and Year Dear Chardonnay, so you can already see its playful side. It’s a favorite spot for corporate outings, weddings and big family gatherings. With a 25-foot gazebo overlooking a gorgeous stream, it’s just as famous for the views as the wine.

Tickle Your Tastebuds

Thornton Winery is the “gateway to Temecula,” and a natural choice for a first stop. Gourmet food, live music, and a gorgeous setting can all be found here. One of the oldest in the valley, it opened its doors in 1988 and is known for classic yet unique wines. It’s won more awards than any other sparkling winery in the area.

At Vindemia Vineyard and Estate Winery, this family owned operation is well-known for having a knack for bringing out the most flavor in every grape. Try one, try them all, and count on your Pavilions hotel staff to help with transportation planning.

Search for Celebrities on Hollywood Tours!

October 20th, 2015

Depending on the tour you choose, you can see up to 50 celebrity homes in a star studded Hollywood Homes tour—and they’re not all in Hollywood, of course! Going from home to home doesn’t guarantee a star sighting, but you certainly increase your odds when you’re in the right neighborhoods and smack in front of the sprawling multi-million dollar mansions. But which celebs might you spot?

The LA tours know where Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Orlando Bloom live for starters. You’ll see where Christina Aguilera calls home, Richard Gere and Madonna. Steve Martin, Jackie Chan and Nicolas Cage also live here. You’ll be introduced to the former sprawling homes of Aaron Spelling, Lucille Ball and of course the current Playboy Mansion also.

Home, Sweet Home

The ride itself is also phenomenal, whisking you along Rodeo Drive to see famous landmarks like the Wilshire Hotel and Harry Winston Jewelers featured in Pretty Woman. Plus, the tour guides know the tell-tale signs of a celeb on the move (like which cars they really drive!).

However, tickets do sell out, so book as far in advance as possible. With most tours, children under age three ride for free—and hotel pickup near Anaheim is possible. Bring your camera and get ready to search for the stars.

Hop On, Hop Off LA Tours

October 20th, 2015

Can’t decide between guided or self-guided tours of Los Angeles? Get the best of both worlds with a hop on, hop off tour! Explore each stop yourself, jumping back onto the tour to head to the next destination. On double decker buses, there’s no better way to experience southern California. There are 70 stops on the biggest tours, so you can spend hours deciding exactly where you want to stay longer, skip stops if you like, and hop back on the next bus as you like—there’s always one just around the corner!

There are also various routes to select. Choose the Hollywood and Beverly Hills route, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, downtown Los Angeles, Venice and Marina del Rey, Universal and Hollywood Bowl, or make your way from LAX to Marina del Rey and back again.

LA On Your Schedule

The attractions at the stops are limitless, such as the homes of Hollywood stars, Fisherman’s Village, Beverly Center and Universal Studios Theme Park. Take the tour to Perry’s Cafes, Aero Theater or the Hammer Museum.

Pick the 24, 48 or 72 hour pass and make the most of your upcoming LA getaway. Reserve your spot today or ask your Pavilions Hotel staff for help buying tickets!

Best Trip Advisor Trips Near Anaheim

October 20th, 2015

Of course the Disney California Adventure Park tops the chart of things to do in Anaheim for everyone including Trip Advisor reviewers. However, there’s so much more the city has to offer. Take a cue from your fellow travelers and let Trip Advisor guide your southern California expedition. After Disney racks up the top three spots, including Disneyland Park and Disney downtown, at number four is Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Catch an Angel’s game or check out another special event taking place at this sprawling stadium.

There’s also the Anaheim Convention Center, always featuring some of the best in entertainment. If you’re traveling to town for business and need to be close to the Center, trust that your Pavilions hotel is just a short drive away. There’s also the nearby Honda center, another hot spot for events.

To Disney…and Beyond!

Trip Advisor reviewers recommend checking out the Anaheim Packing District, a great place for local fare and handmade crafts. Adventure City is for the underdogs who want a break from the Disney fun—but not a break from the rides and thrills.

Try City National Grove of Anaheim, a great concert venue, or the Astor Classic Events Center for a peek back into time. Disney is phenomenal, but make this trip one for the memory books with even more outings!

Shopping in Anaheim

March 5th, 2014

ShoppingIf you like it or not, we all head to the mall at some point. Anaheim has some great shopping spots for you to hit when you need to find something for that special someone or you just need a little retail therapy. Unlike many, our malls have something for everyone, husbands and kids alike.

One of the top spots for shopping in the Anaheim area is South Coast Plaza. This is the go to spot for guys that are in the dog house. Featuring top brand names like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co., and  Gucci, this mall is the Rodeo Dr. of Orange County.

Too upscale for you? Try Westfield MainPlace. With department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom and  a variety of boutiques you will have plenty of selections to choose from. If the weather is nice, Irvine Spectrum Center is an outdoor shopping mall that is sure to please. To top it off, when have you seen a ferris wheel at a mall? Now you have! Both malls have an abundance of delicious restaurants for when your feet need a break and you need to quench your thirst.

If you are looking for better deals, try The Outlets at Orange. This outlet mall has an array of shops from Sports Authority to Sunglass Hut and Neiman Marcus Last call to H&M. If the kids are pestering you, send them over to Lucky Strike bowling lanes for a few games.

No matter your taste or style, you will find it all here in Anaheim.
