Mickey Mouse Isn’t The Only Animal In Town

Santa Ana ZooCatch a few of our other animals on your trip out to see Mickey Mouse. The Santa Ana Zoo, just down the road is great for a day trip to explore some exotic animals and see various habitat exhibits each featuring its own display of animals.

Enjoy walking through replicas of the Amazon Rainforest and seeing the many birds from both South and Central America. Get wet by the waterfalls and view the animals from the viewing deck amidst the lush greenery. Visit the two-story red barn and see the rare farm animals that they have on display. Afterwards take a ride on the Zoofari Express and enjoy the breeze in your face as you tour the zoo from the train. Kids will enjoy the play area complete with the Conservation Carousel which as a 33 animal line up including a Sea Otter, Panther and Sea Dragon.

Sometimes called the Home of the 50 Monkeys, you have no shortage of monkey viewing. The Zoo is required to have 50 monkeys at all times. This requirement was stipulated by the original founder of the zoo before gifting it to the City of Santa Ana.

This small 20 acre, privately funded zoo sure packs a punch giving you much more than you would expect. Open daily, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, the summer crowd gets the benefit of extended hours until 6 pm.
